Beautiful day for a wedding
Where shall we start. Well if you have been keeping up with my blogs you know that i am not afraid to tell the good the bad and the ugly (on our end as djs). I think it is very healthy and shows character of who you are as a person and helps you grow as a team as a company and as a person. That being said we had a rough start on this one. IT ENDED UP A BLAST, but in the start we couldn't get things working right. The reception setup went perfect. The photobooth perfect but when we got to the ceremony i had to reset the computer cause something was wrong with the sound card. Our lapel mics were picking up way to much wind so we had to switch over to a hand held and i had a xlr cable go bad on me. So needless to say we were running a little behind. Now that was the bad. But this is why we carry backups and i tell people all the time don't hire a dj that doesn't carry backups. Its electronics things will go wrong, but when you are a realest like myself and plan for these things it always works out just like it did in this case. We switched things out and got the ball rolling. Now this was a very country themed wedding and rustic at that. The bride was riding in on a horse with all her bridesmaids coming in with her. Hayleys idea was to play something a little more hardcore as in hopes to make it feel as if they are bad-asses coming down the hill. Hayley it worked you guys rocked that out 100%. If you have ever seen a movie that they use a slow recording camera and bring out the ladies and they are playing a hard core song in the background I want you to imagine that, it was perfect. That is what she wanted and I am telling you it made and memory on my heart as a dj that I wont forget I loved it. Now I had my full crew working this wedding. Dylan Miskell was the main assistant. Katlyn Noe was photography and for her first debut id like to introduce Amber doing her first ride along. Many of you don't know but I put my djs through a lot. They go through an extensive training and a lot of criticism from me. It's a minimum year of training and then if they are not comfortable after that we continue training. I have very high expectations and Amber I would like to tell you I was very impressed with how well you listened and how well you fit in with us. Thank you.
Off my soap box now back to the wedding. Once it was over we guided everyone except the bridal party to the reception barn. It was time for the opening speech. This is the part I struggle with the most it is my weakness. I don't know if other djs are the same but my anxious level goes through the roof on the opener only because your still figuring out the crowd and how much excitement to put into it or how much NOT to put into it and will they accept you or will they ignore you. It is tough and I do tend to worry myself from time to time for no reason. Just like all the rest it went off without a hitch. I stumbled once but with a quick joking on myself got right back to it. Right before the grand entrance we attempted to fit the very large bridal party in the photobooth. I think most of them showed up in the picture so very huge success. The party went on through the night with no issues at all. The crowd was hyped the bride and groom were having a blast. I don't think Hayley left the dance floor all but eat and get a drink. There were many highlights but I think my favorite one was every time Hayley tried to talk on the mic about her love for John and their family, she couldn't get it out due to the tears that kept showing up. Guys that is what love is all about. And you felt that in this wedding. This was a true country wedding with all the fixins. Hayley and John on behalf of ESP I would like to thank you for your trust u gave us for your special day and we wish you many many many years of happiness and peace in your relationship. Remember there will be great times but also bad times. Keep family and loved ones close and lean of them and the bad times wont be so bad. Thank you all for reading.
